EA always put a lot of effort on their player ratings. However sadly, sometimes even their experts could get the ratings wrong.
A few weeks before the launch of each year's new version of EA Sport FIFA, we will usually get the chance to pore over all of the latest player ratings and have our two pennies’ worth. It’s extremely obvious that EA has put a lot of effort into their game players' scouting and ratings. fifa coin store review What's more, on the whole they get the most part of the cast spot ea every year. And they can always handle the players overall and potential ratings to the stars of the future solidly.
Though they have done a marvelous job, with thousands of players all around the world, there are always going to be a few players' ratings that go a bit awry, whether it’s veteran players who stick around longer than expected or youngsters who burst onto the scene and surprise us all. Here we are going to list 5 players that EA and FIFA just didn’t see it coming, and completely underrated they. Let's take a look!
Jamie Vardy – 71 Overall – FIFA 16
Let’s kick things off with the obvious starting point for this list. Even the staunchest Leicester City fans can’t claim to have seen this season coming for the Foxes, and whilst at this point you could realistically put forward a strong case for every member of the Leicester team to get a stat increase, the list starts with the 2 guy who have done most of the damage for them this season: Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez. Vardy’s 71 overall rating looks quite awful in light of his sparkling form and England call-up, but we would be quite surprised if they both still don't get significant increases in the upcoming FIFA 17.
Christian Benteke – 79 Overall – FIFA 14
THough Benteke is quite struggling at Liverpool this year – he doesn’t appear to fit the philosophy that Jurgen Klopp wants to follow. However there’s a great reason why Liverpool paid £32.5 million for this super Belgian last summer. When he first arrived at Aston Villa from Genk, fifa ultimate team coins review he needed no time at all to fit into the Premier League style of football, scoring on his debut and continuing to score some beautiful goals for his club and country, finishing with 23 goals in 39 games for Villa, and three in five for Belgium. In light of that, and his excellent record since, a 79 rating seems unbelievably low for him. Even then, his rating only went up one points to 80 for FIFA 15.
Raheem Sterling – 69 Overall – FIFA 13
Sterling was only 17 years old back when FIFA 13 hit the shelves, but he was already establishing himself as a potential star of the future. Indeed, there was enough hype around Sterling before he made his first team debut to warrant a rating in the low 70s. As it turned out, EA handed him a 69 overall – about standard for a young prospect – and then watched as Sterling forced his way into the Liverpool first XI, and made 36 appearances in all competitions for the club, scoring two goals and putting himself in the picture for an international call-up. EA promptly boosted his rating up to 76 overall the next season, and he’s continued to grow rapidly, reaching 82 overall this year.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang – 80 Overall – FIFA 14
The reigning African Footballer of the Year was relatively unheralded by EA in FIFA 14, despite having had a breakout season for St Etienne the year before. His electric pace and neat finishing puts him in a similar mould to Alexandre Lacazette – who received an 84 overall rating after his breakout season at Lyon – yet the Gabonese striker only received an 80 overall rating after his, and even worse, only an 83 potential rating on top. As it turned out, Aubameyang’s star has risen at Borussia Dortmund thanks to quality finishing and equally high level celebrations (including his famous Spiderman mask), and he has become one of Europe’s most coveted strikers. His rating in FIFA 16? Still only 82 overall, but surely destined to be higher next year.
Yohan Cabaye – 79 Overall – FIFA 16
Cabaye was nothing short of a revelation for Newcastle United when he joined them from Lille, and his quality performances for the Magpies earnt him an 82 overall rating from EA, and a transfer to Paris-Saint Germain. Cabaye struggled for playing time in Paris, but since joining Crystal Palace this year, he’s been displaying his exceptional talents once again, controlling games from midfield and delivering deadly set pieces for the south Londoners, who have been one of the best surprises of a surprising Premier League season. EA has him rated three points below his original 82 rating, but he’s still performing at a high level, and should be 80 overall at a minimum.
